Black Crowned Night Heron

I took the original photo at Slough Preserve in Fort Myers, FL years ago. Their name is black crowned, but their top feathers are blue…weird, huh?

I was going to do this one in just charcoal, but it evolved and really needed the blue feathers. So, pastel, PanPastel and pastel pencils.
